While a lot of artists are just riding off their mixtapes alone, David Banner's first mixtape was released alongside his album and the infamous Missippippi, in 2003. David Banner Undaground Vol 1 is a Classic worthy enough to go down in the Hip Hop hall of fame because it's still hot and relevant...and it was/is good enough to ride on its own, unlike mixtapes being produced today with the same beats jacked from the internet!
David Banner put this treasure personally in my hands in Miami while he was promoting MISSISSIPPI. What he also did was make sure that the 'soundtrack' on the mixtape was distinctive to his flavor. He threw out mixtape after mixtape to promote his ALBUMS, not the other way around, because he knew it took more than just luck! And when you hear this mixtape, it clearly defines Banner's uniquie deep Southern sound.
He absolutely sounded like NOBODY else, and this was a perfect presentation, not only for his style, but to accompany the release of his 2nd full CD, MISSISSIPPI. My take is, alot of artist need to study Banner and take notes. If you want to do a mixtape, then do one like this and then take heed from King ofMixtapes...David Banner
Below I've included my favorites from the CD (DAVID BANNER UNDAGROUND VOL 1) AND a HARDCORE freestyle with Banner and Bun B.
P.S. to the other Bloggers and DJ's...AH HAH!!! I POSTED THIS BEFORE YOU!!!! LMFAO!!!

Lisa Ford's 2010 Tribute to AALIYAH! The original article & baddestvideo!! By Lisa Ford Published: September 3, 2010 PrintEmail
Lisa Ford's 2010 AALIYAH Tribute!!!
{and AALIYAH's baddest video!!!!!!!!!}
See below for the Original article I published at the time of ALLIYAH's death. Originally published in PLATIUNUM MAGAZINE in the Fall of 2001, a month after her plane crash, the story saddened the entire Universe. It effected me deeply because at that time, i was around her age, AND I grew up on her music. My favorite Aaliyah hit of all time (besides Age Ain't Nothin' But a Number, cause that hit made us feel really Hot!!) was BACK & FORTH! This hit truly captured the state of our Hip Hop culture. Just a hot ass club banger that made you feel good no matter what was going on in your life. I've included the video.
Soundtrack rom the TAKERS movie starring him and Chris Brown (#1 at the box office). MTV News released an Interview with T.I. in which he states this single ft. RICK ROSS would debut to the internet and streets as oppose to going with radio. (source: MissInfo.tv)

Why BET may think Nicki Minaj is the Greatest Rapper Alive! By Lisa Ford Published: September 1, 2010 PrintEmail
WHY BET MAY THINK NICKI MINAJ IS THE GREATEST RAPPER ALIVE!!!!
Correct me if I'm wrong, but i believe NICKI MINAJ is the only rapper (and only female rapper, at that) to win the distinguish BET Award without having a recorded album published. With that accomplishment in effect, is BET making a statement that Nicki is better than any other rapper out there? I mean, every other rapper had to record full albums and push numbers to even be considered. But Nicki by-passed all that album stuff and still won.
So what is the message that BET is sending out? That artists don't need albums anymore to be considered? Or is this an isolated incident that only for rapper, Nicki Minaj.
Here’s what Irv Gotti from Murder Inc Records said to VIBE last month about the up-and-coming rapper: “In my opinion she is as talented as my other girl Lauryn Hill. They have completely different styles. But as far as the talent is concerned they both can do it all.”
Even Kanye has said that Nicki is a force to be reckoned with: “This is gonna be such a big statement, and such a big thing to fill: The scariest artist right now is definitely Nicki Minaj. I think she has the most potential to be the number-two rapper of all time,” he told Hot 97.
So Nicki Minaj is being considered the greatest of the great (or at least 2nd to the great)! It took a female rapper to surpass all the others! What do you think? Is Nicki Minaj the greatest rapper alive. I did a couple of comparisons of my own. Check it out...
Ludacris released his major label debut, Back for the First Time, in October 2000. This album was actually a modified re-release of the album Incognegro, made in 1998. He went on to release Word of Mouf (2001), Chicken-n-Beer (2003), The Red Light District (2004), Release Therapy (2006), Battle of the Sexes (2010), and Ludaversal (2010/2011). On August 15, 2010, Ludacris tweeted that he is currently back in the studio with The Neptunes working on Ludaversal, his "sequel" album to Theater of the Mind. Ludacris won his first BET award in 2002 for his 3rd album (See HERE).
LAURYN HILL is the triple threat that Nicki Minaj has been compared to. LaurynHill & The Fugees' first album, Blunted on Reality, peaked at #49 on the U.S. Hot 100. The album sold over two million copies worldwide. Blunted on Reality was followed by The Score, a multi-platinum, Grammy-winning album that established two of the three Fugees as international rap stars. Singles from The Score include "Ready or Not", "Fu-Gee-La", "No Woman, No Cry", and "Killing Me Softly". Lauryn went on to record the notorious Miseducation of Lauryn Hill a few years before the BET awards was established. So she didn't win or was ever nominated for a BET Award even after that album. But all of the numerous awards she did win (including 5 Grammy's) were based on a completed album.
So with Nicki Minaj winning the BET Award without an album, is BET stating that Nicki Minaj the greatest rapper alive? Or does it just demonstrate that the evolution of Hip Hop isn't about recording albums anymore. What do YOU say?
Here's what Nicki Minaj has to say about it (in reponse to Irv's statement and comparison to Lauryn Hill), “Irv has been privy to hear things that I’ve done that the world hasn’t heard,” she told CNN. “Based on the music I have out now, that sounds like an absurd comment, but when ‘Pink Friday’ comes out, you will completely understand why Irv made that comparison.”
Well I say...LMFAO!!!! I have absolutely NO COMMENT for the bullsh#t!! But if you do...then hit me up on my TWITTER!!

King The Hood Savior (Ft. Beanie Sigel) – Haters (Remix) (Kanye West, Jay-Z Diss)
Ya'll have to excuse me for posting this, but I just love lyrical battles. It's called 'authentic' Hip Hop, taking it back to where it all began. The thrill of the competition (although Kanye and Jay Z might think they're too big to respond). Beanie along with King of the new State Property division Chicago has a few choice words...calling Jay Z & Kanye 'false American gangsters'...Now that I think about it, they could have used this dope ass beat to make a normal hit and let the music, w/o the diss, speak for itself. But in any event, you can Download it below-
DOWNLOAD HERE - King The Hood Savior (Ft. Beanie Sigel) – Haters (Remix) (Kanye West, Jay-Z Diss)
Rick Ross' music is well thought out and executed. He encompasses his intelligence when marketing his music. Bringing gangster films to life through his albums. Although fiction...it's entertaining...

Anne Frank: the only existing film images
Anne Frank's influence on the world can't be described in mere words. I was inspired to post this rare footage of her after watching the powerful film, FREEDOM WRITERS, last night...a true story about teenagers from different races & gang affilations coming together in one classroom and changing their lives when they learned about Anne Frank's story.
The teens, who lived in the most violent situations, were so inspired by Anne Frank's story of genocide, that they raised money to fly the lady who hid Anne from the Nazi's to California as a guest speaker. As I live out my dream as a Writer myself, these type of stories remind me to count my blessings~
DESCRIPTION: July 22 1941. The girl next door is getting married. Anne Frank is leaning out of the window of her house in Amsterdam to get a good look at the bride and groom. It is the only time Anne Frank has ever been captured on film. At the time of her wedding, the bride lived on the second floor at Merwedeplein 39. The Frank family lived at number 37, also on the second floor. The Anne Frank House can offer you this film footage thanks to the cooperation of the couple.
ZODCORE - August 24, 2010 ......kinda weird how she would lean out the window to take a peek when she cant see or hear.

MP3 Download: Kanye West – “Power” Rmx ft Jay Z & Swizz Beatz By Lisa Ford Published: August 23, 2010 PrintEmail
MP3: Kanye West – “Power” Rmx
ft Jay Z & Swizz Beatz
Adding Jay Z to the track made it all better. “No one man should have all that power” is the full line from which the title is drawn. Details remain scarce about Kanye West's new album, Good Ass Job, but apparently it is suppose to be his best hip-hop record yet.
According to PrefixMag.com, Good Ass Job, which finishes Kanye's "college series," is set to feature Big Sean, who confirmed his guest spot via Twitter. It's also likely we'll see frequent collaborators like Common and Mos Def along with newcomers such as Drake and KiD CuDi. The album will also include beats from outside producers, something West had done before. This time around, he will be joined by RZA, Pete Rock, and DJ Premier, the last of whom provided scratches on "Everything I Am" off Graduation.
